-------------- Sir? May I recommend I load myself into the reverse-thrust tubes and you use my body as decoy-fodder? This will, of course leave me splattered across deep space and unable to complete today's laundry, for which I apologise in advance.

customer service/tech support is not that bad ...
easy questions most of the time, dumb ones usually ...
makes you feel multiple notches above the average joe, until you realize how low the average joe goes ...
... I worked customer service a looooong time back, requested the night shift, and had a lot of fun ... people were all asleep so we could do what we wanted. Watched 2 videos a night, called in random combinations of phone sex numbers (surprisingly, most of our guesses worked!
Makes the occasional snob/rich parent and the equally spoiled/skank kid tolerable.

Phone sex r0x0rs!! Oh yeah baby ...does that feel good ..tell me how much you want it. Do you want to feel my nice *beep* ....um ...hold on, I've got another call coming in.
I once got a call because a computer was turned off. Apparently it always went into sleep mode and the idiot user only needed to move the mouse to make it come back on. They had never turned it off and now that it was in this state they were truely perplexed. I said "Jesus Crist, I can put a four year old in a room with a computer and they can turn it on" to which the user replied "well it's not my fault you guys make these things so complicated to use" to which I added "speaking of complicated, have you mastered the toaster yet?" Then they hung up. Oh well ...another closed call for Wiley ...my stats are through the roof ...I'm the best support guy ever!!

I remember the days of Windows support... life has been much simpler since I switched to Unix. Users think Unix is so complicated that they don't even *try* to argue with you. You just say "Hmm... hang on, I'm testing the mail server... yep. It's working fine as always. It's been up for - wow, two years, can you believe that? Let me check the network - everything's ok there. The problem has to be on your end. I'm not surprised, you know how Windows is... um hmm... I know, it's terrible! Anyway, you'll have to talk to the Windows support group. You called us first because we're nicer than they are? Oh! Well, thank you! Anyway, I'll transfer you over. Have a nice day!"

Lol I dont work at a help desk but I work at my local library shelving books (gotta love easy HS jobs) and yea sometimes downstairs in the stacks people will ask for help to find things. Sometimes I get really dumb questions, such as one time this lady comes up to me and asks "Are the books downo here in any order?" I was trying not to luagh and not be a total smartass. I was just nice a helped her poor pathetic soul. People are dumb.

Mr Snake! I used to shelve books too! Especially when I found out that girls need help with their homework!
Right after I got out of HS a college girl came in and she told me if I write her term paper and she gets a B or better, she'd *do* me.
I did and she did.
