You ever handle one of these? Ever carry one into combat? Ever trust your life to it? Ever had the thought that "if im going to die here im taking a shit load of them with me."? Ever put your life on the line for anything?
Do you see the little knob just in front of the handle and just below and infront of the front site. its under the barrel.
this adjusts the pressure in the gas recoil system. it has 2 settings, normal and adverse fire. what it does is tightens the spring and increases the pressure that cycles the gun after it has been fired for a while. go ask someone what the ROF is when the gun is clean and its fired with the knob turned to adverse. go on. go ask.
Personaly, i never took mine off that setting.
This is the difference between experience and bullshit.
I have been there, i have used this device to make bodies out of PDF solders, i know what the rate of fire is and i know you can still fire the gun when the barrell is white hot but the rounds tend to wander around a bit. But hey...thats why every fith round is a tracer.

This is an area in which messing with Wolfguard is not advised. There's a difference between having experience because you did things that were your job, or because you'd be the one in a body bag if you didn't and having read about it in last month's issue of Guns And Ammo.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there always is.
You took one comment, a joke, and turned it into an 'I know more than you do' dick measuring contest that specifically targets Wolf's real life. You all can sit here and mentally masturbate about hopper, magazine and belt fed guns as an intellectual exercise. Wolf doesn't get the luxury of detachment, and due to that you owe him a huge deal of respect. We all owe it to him to respect his experience, because he lived it. He volunteered to go and do something that few (if any) of us here ever could, he risked injury, handicap, being maimed, being killed, and subjected his psyche to the tortures of traumatic situations. Wolf put on that uniform, and people shot at him so that it wouldn't have to be YOU getting shot at.
Now you all toe the line and be respectful before I come through this ethernet cable and beat it into you. I will not tolerate you guys shitting on Wolf as if his experience came out of some damn video game.

my original comment was a stab at something worlgaurd said that i thought was ironic.
"stupid people are why miniguns are belt fed" i couldn't imagine a clip fed one, because that would defeat the whole purpose of having a minigun. (yeah, he did mention a gun that can be clip or belt fed, but a SAW isn't a minigun.) I thought this was kinda funny.
Then wolfgaurd has to climb up on his ex-marine soapbox and preach to the ignorant masses (me) about how he knows more about shit.
And, of course, his minions have to defend him, as if he needs it.
I bow before wolfie's superior knowlegde of firearms, but that doesn't mean im not gonna take a jab at him if he says something a little stupid in an attempt to be witty.
Wiley: if your next mountain dew slurpie tastes funny, disregard it. its probably nothing.  Sure ill wash your windows, what's your address?
Kuru: Wolfie ain't the only one here who was in the military.
JoeSmith & Wiley: People do stupid shit. People make mistakes. If a mistake i made about 7 years ago means i work at 7-11 instead of NASA, does that make you better than me because the biggest mistake you ever made was leaving the iron plugged in or brewing decaff instead of regular?

Kuru: ok, i loose. (though i don't think me shooting spittballs at wolfie justifies me getting carpet bombed by the detnet "we love wolfguard" crew.) Btw, wasn't referring to you as a 'minion'. Was talking about taxman, asciiman, and joesmith, etc.
Wolfie:
people with brains join the air force. The air force is an excuse for people in uniform to play golf. No air force base in the world (and im not making this up) is more than a half mile from a golf course. Air force barracks have shared T1 access in every room. Air force barracks have satalite TV. I should've joined the air force.
I was stupid; i listened to my recruiter. Its kinda hard to walk past the recruiting office where guys are yelling "WAAZAAAAP!?" and "where's my cheesesteak yo?" and walk into the boring recruiting office where everyone is in uniform and yelling SIR YES SIR! I'll stick with boring from now on.
But i learned an important lession: never again volunteer yourself.
