Oz, sadly, I agree there too... All of their newer songs do sound almost alike. Maybe they are hoping that people never get tired of something sounding the same?

Heh.

I find it amazing and very sad how a TV station (like MTV) can dictate so easily to our society the kind of music that is suddenly considered 'in' to listen to and the groups that are popular (I guess reading books and *not* believing everything that you hear are lost arts). All of these pre-fabricated groups really annoy me and even more so when I see then become popular. They can't play their own music or write their own songs. All they are are figure heads to be used by some corperate executive to influence the younger generation so that he can make a profit. Sigh, slaves to the media...

I personally can't stand Kid Rock. And while I, like Fendi, admit to occasionally listening to and enjoying the occasional boy band or blonde girl song, I think what I saw a couple of days ago is what saddens me the most. I was flipping through the channels, and noticed that on TRL the #1 song of the afternoon was, quite frighteningly, Hanson. I realize the average viewer of MTV is only like 15 or 16, making them fairly young during the MMMBop conspiracy, but honestly, didn't they learn the first time??

MTV is one of the saddest parts of modern society, along with:

1) Liquid cheese products that still have the "REAL" logo on them
2) crap pop music being the most popular
3) Extremely caffienated beverages (Not that I don't like them, but they're still pretty sad)
4) Monosodium glutamate

And if you ever want to argue with someone who doesn't believe MTV tells them what to listen to, there's only one word to use:

Buzzclip. (Or Buzzworthy.)

Now how eerily Big Brother-esque is THAT? "This clip is Buzzworthy. You should go out and buy the CD now, because this is the band that everyone will like. Everyone WILL like this band. Because we tell them to."

That's why I like bands that are in it for more than money- the music is usually a lot better as well.

It's like a song on the newest NOFX disc called "Dinosaurs Will Die" (referring to their hope for the demise of the music industry )... one of my favorite lines in it is "...we're gonna kill the seven record deal, and make records that have more than one good song..."

It's so true. All the latest, most popular bands put out a disc with 1 or 2 hugely popular songs, and then 10 tracks of pure shit. Is that part of their contract? "I promise to make 2 good songs, plus 10 songs of 100\% suckage..."

If anyone has a free minute, I recommend taking a listen to the song (you can find it easily on Napster).

If we don't mind going back to Kid Rock, i've hated him since they starting playing that first 'hit' of his on the radio. BUt the worst is that one 'Only god knows why.' I can't stand hearing the guy bitch for several minutes about how hard and shity his life as a millionaire rockstar is. Poor Kid Rock. Whine, Whine, Whine. ... Give me a break.

About the rest of them, the masses buy whatever the record companies/MTVs play. They're brainwashed until they have no individuality, etc. It's too bad. About britney, her only talent/source of popularity is in her bra.

About Limp Bizkit and the record company shit, i kinda hear you about their records having a lot of shit on them and only a few songs. But not all groups' albums are like that. Also, a good way we have of fighting that is Napster: we don't buy the shitty albums w/ 1 good song, we just download the 1 song and screw the record companies.

Gasp, but watch it, or else Metallica or Dr. Dre will send a DEATH SQUAD to your home!! Alas, all is lost!

I wish Kid Rock would go away.
