I doubt most of us have even tried to make a Winamp skin. Maybe we can have a 7 page debate about how it should look!

I used to use cedex until I got audio catalyst... audio catalyst is much better than cdex imho. and music match while it does have the abillity to encode at up to 360kbps that feature is only going to be useful if you are one seriously l33t audiophile with one expensive stereo I'm talking seriously high-end.

I find different players suitable for different things. I use Winamp for MP3s, SCPs, NSFs, and SIDs, Modplug Player for MODs, S3Ms, XMs, ITs, etc, and DonutCD (my own creation) to play CDs. I use them for each purpose because of how well they perform each task. And that's what works for me.------------------ graa

Me and Incubus have been working on a Detnet skin all night (each of us working on our own). Maybe they won't suck!

Heh, Winamp is the best for building totally customizable CD's *from* mp3's you download from Napster. Hell, forget the portable mp3 players out there, all you need is a burner, latest rendition of Winamp, package of Cd-R's, and a connection to some huge mp3 haven such as Napster (yes, some will say it sucks, but chances are if you are looking for it, someone will have it on there). If you actually know what you're doing, and at the rate that songs are encoded to Mp3 and released as is, you can have the album, sounding just as good as the store bought, for the price of a little download time, some decoding, and writing to CD.
