Ok since I'm so bored and have really nothing better to do with my life here are the ingrediants of Vegemite (NB I am highly trained Australian with a jar of it in my hand, do not try this at home.)
INGREDIENTS: YEAST EXTRACT, SALT, MINERAL SALT (508, 509), MALT EXTRACT, NATURAL COLOUR (150), VEGETABLE EXTRACT, THIAMINE, RIBOFLAVIN, NIACIN.

Those ingrediants are in order of quantity, so there is FAR more salt than vegetables in there... also that IS how you spell colour you stupid americans....

I remember when my mum made me vegemite, cheese and lettuce sanwiches for school. They were pretty tasty.

I've heard a bunch o merikans say the don't like vegemite but usually when asked how much they used I get a nasty shock when they liken it to the spreading of peanut butter *blech*

As for nutella *blech* feels like i'm eating pure chelestorol.

Marmite is WAY better. Vegemite is stronger than Marmite and is kinda poo brown. Marmite is black and has more ingredients:

Yeast,Sugar,Salt,Mineral Salt(508), Maltodextrin,Colour(Caramel),Herbs,Spices,
Mineral(Iron),Vitamins(Niacin,Riboflavin,Thiamin,Folate,B12)

As an Kiwi living in the States I miss Marmite heaps, but I allways get sent a secret stash from home.

i had vegemite about 3 years ago. i dipped the end of a cracker into it getting only a small little amount and it tasted like beer-soaked butter or something. god awful stuff. i have a buddie that went down there for a family reason or something, he's bringing me back another jar of the stuff, i want to put it on this one jack asses car.

Hey, the other day at the superstore where I work, someone bought a couple jars of Kraft Vegemite. I didn't even realize you could get it here. Maybe I should buy some one of these days to try it. It said "product of Australia" on it, so I guess it was authentic.

Thats right only us aussies are strong enough to take raw vitamin B, which is pretty much what vegemite is...or another way to look at it is...you know that shitty aftertaste you get after you drink some beers (like guiness)...thats right vegemite is pure shitty aftertaste^tm )

But I wouldn't live with out it.
