if you have 5 grand (damn!) to spend on a computer, why don't you just buy one from alienware instead (www.alienware.com).. you can completely customize the systems, they look sweet, they have top of the line components, and they are in your price range.

oh look.. i configured a system for you:

go here for the system he's talking about.

HT-DW620 踯.95

That's Sony suggested retail price. I believe these are 跌 at Best Buy. Don't pay more than 跌 bucks for one though, that's all they are worth.

I own one. Yes, it'd be cool to use just for a computer speaker system, but don't use it for a home theater!!!

I bought one of those, then upgraded to the HTD-DW820 which gives you DTS and a few S-Video Connections. That wasn't enough though. I needed more optical inputs, so I finally ended up with the STR-DE945. Which I'm very happy with.

By the way. I'd be willing to sell my HT-DW620!!! I blew up 2 of the speakers, I'm using the center and the sub in my bedroom as extra speakers for the HTD-DW820.

But I'll sell the receiver and 2 satellites!

I briefly had a very similar system (same speakers, better receiver) and it doesn’t sound bad. The main problem I found with it is that it doesn’t do midrange sound for crap. All the satellite put out nice treble, and the sub can put out some decent bass (especially for 50 watt), but only when you have the cutoff frequency set to about 50-60 HZ. As soon as you turn up the cutoff frequency the sub starts to wash out; leaving you with an ass-load of treble and no bass.

The problem seems to be in the I-D-10-T operater...
