The other day I went to wolfguards homepage and it was all about hot he builds Super Pimp Battle robots, and i shure he gets people all the time who think they have the best idea for a robot. So i thought it whould be cool to start a thread where people can submit their ideas for robots.

Put pictures with descriptions.

2.blue is a rod for a pnumatic piston that is jabbed into the opposing bot after the manet has gripped it
3.green is the piston
4.purple are metal wedges connected to leather that lets them slightly scrape on the ground
5.cyan are fendish spikes to strike phear into the heart of other bots

2.Purple, these are the spears that thrust at high speeds into the attacker, by ajusting the crankshaft you can change which spears are out and wich are in

Problem with spikes in the bigger classes is the fact that the armor gets thicker and moves from lexan to metal. The other problem is you need to pin your victim down or all the spike will do is push them away.(1st law of motion)
Saws tend to skip and jump off of armor if they bite at all. abrasive disks will break on impact(impact speeds can total 100+ MPH)
Magnets or any other type of grapling or entangelment device is not allowed by the rules.
What to do? You make the device that pins you victim down a weapon that does crushing damage.

as you can see the top arm can smack down on the top of a victim and hold them in place. this is now run by Co2 but may end up being hydrolic. When this is doing its job the little spike tears in from the bottom. I call it the CHB (Come Here Bitch)(old joke from my Army days)
The drive system is 2 12V wheelchair motors. The frame is tube Al. and the shell is 1/2" AL. plate. Total weight works out to be around 200 lbs.
Im also building a 24 lb walking robot(stompbot) for events in NJ, NY, and PA this year.

well if i crush his top into his batteries and shove a 15" spike through his bottom plate into his eletronics and drive componants, wont that immobilize him? Not to mention the fact i can drive where i want with him and push him into the arena saws.

and "robot wars" started in the us and due to a legal battle with a sponsor (someone did not read the fine print) you ended up with a game show where the winner is chosen in advance and the house robots are not designed by the same rules I have to follow.

Battle Bots (the us version) is pure head to head combat. There are arena hazards but they are not mobile. It's you and the other guy and that's it.

Like everything else that is good in the world, it was ripped from the US.

some little scorpion/motorcycle/flamethrowing thingy, a spider with blades for legs, and some big guy with a chainsaw arm called the judge.
if i were to build battle robots ;-) that's what i'd do...

Hey Wolfguard, do many people use drills at all?? it seems if you were to get a long small diameter drill bit into your opponent, it could immobilize his internals pretty fast right?
