It all started a while ago when a newbie joined up and made that thread.

Then another newbie joined up and was an asshole. Askheaves gave that threads link.
And now, my dear friend its almost compulsory for askheaves to give out that link whenever a newbie joins. It's something like a private joke, cept everyone (except usually the newbie) knows about it.

haha, i lurked in the shadows for a bit before registering. anyway, i think the hardest thing about being a newbie here is that there are so many members and it's hard to remember who is who. over at bruised.net almost everyone uses their real names. of course most of us actually know eachother, so it's not hard to keep straight.

Actually, once you've been here a month or 2 you'll realize we're all pretty tight. I can usually name 20 or so members off the top of my head (including YOU ic0n0, so quick complaining ).

actually, i too lurked in the shadows for like two weeks before becoming a member. i was drawn to by the bastardizations. but i dont know any of you more personally than what i read on the posts. sometimes you can tell a lot about a person, sometimes nothing. i do see SOME people that are like myself, but i just turned 16, so its not like im as mature. i can hold my own sometimes though.

I appologize if it seems like I'm ripping on newbies, or if there seems to be an air of elitism. It has become a running gag that I feel obliged to propegate. And solid is absolutely right.

If nothing else, it's a pretty good clue-in for folks who want to become part of the action. Even though I have some 900 posts, and I'm beaten by a few others, my opinions are merely as valid as the next man (or woman).

I'm loving the atmosphere we have here. It's so open, and there's a nice tight group of folks here that I like. Ah, Detnet is good.

Plus, I love having a topic with my name all over it I feel so special
