Im just not sure i have the grades, does anyone else know of super l33t comp sci colleges where a 3.6+ GPA and 760M/620V SAT wouldnt have lots of trouble getting in?

i forgot university of illinois urbana-champaign, they're 'sposed to be good, but i long ago decided that i don't ever want to be cold again. which rules out illinois, and i imagine kills off anything farther north. besides, how long in bikini season up there? and pre-emptively, no, i don't personally wear bikinis. i prefer it in the buff.... >:-)

according to something i saw somewhere i can't remember (which i means i may have imagined it) they're behind Caltech with the number two spot. MIT and Carnegie-Mellon were right up there, too. also note that UT is public and therefore much cheaper if you actually have to pay part of it. the cost of living is supposed to be cheaper in Austin (than southern cal) and they have AMD and Dell hq'd in town. if you're into big business in the midwest. if anyone else knows anything about it, i--we--'d love to hear about it.

If you're looking in Canada,Carleton University in Ottawa is pretty 1337 too, and they offer amazing scholarship money. They've got a sweet co-op program. (The Ottawa area is known as silicon valley north). i found that Carleton's program taught more relevant material that UofW when I was researching schools. i'm currently in the program so i can give you more info if you want.

I know its old hat, but UCBerkeley is near a bunch of dope companies. They also have hella good intern relations with good comp companies. Lastly, they have OC3s running to the dorms, not the basic DC3

i was half considering berkely, but its really far away for me(i live in virginia) and i dont know anyone on that half of the country...id be so very alone...anyway, VA Tech sent me a recruiting letter today...i think that would probably be my backup school though, cause schools with big sports programs suck (look at my high school...did anyone ever notice how crew is suprisingly like the occult?)...also, i dont think money is gonna be that big of a problem, considering how cheap the school my sister goes to is...its like a step above community college...i only worry about getting in...yeah

Rochester Institute of Technology is pretty good. although it's in upstate NY so you really have to like snow.
that and there aren't any women (although i think the male to female ratio might be almost up to 2/1). There also aren't any parties or any sort of social scene unless you like roleplaying and anime.
