That would suggest that he wasn't mentally stable. Are you in favor of executing people who can't control what they're doing? This man had a mental disabilty, I don't know what kind, but I'm guessing that he couldn't tell the difference between our societies versions of right and wrong. What I think should have happened was to keep him in that mental institute for the rest of his life. You, nor anyone else has the moral highground to kill another human being. The system failed. That he was allowed to roam, and killed two women and raped another, was a tragedy, but it can't be fixed by killing him. What if the DNA evidence had been the other way, showing that he hadn't killed the girl? What if he had already be executed for that crime? No body deserves to be killed, some need to be locked away from other people for the safety of all, but if they are human, they have a right to live, until THEY are finished with their life. |
