What you've started right now, with your insistance on being a petty little dictator and deciding that you're going to delete whatever posts you don't like flies in the face of Detnet tradition.

Many of us have been here a long time, and we defended you when people left by saying the spirit of Detnet would never be the same with a new owner. We gave you a chance to become more than the management, to be part of the Detnet family, and you shit all over it.

And those of us who have been here that long are saddened and dismayed to see that we were wrong. The spirit of Detnet is gone, and it's because you want to rule with an iron fist.

So do your will, because apparently no amount of exodus is going to get you to realize you are the one driving people away. But we are fed up, Kevin. The old vets are gonna close their browsers.

again I completely agree with kuru. editor's insistance on running the board his way instead of the community's way, and his insistance on making DSL the top dog admin, when we shouldn't have ANY admins at all to begin with, completely ruined this place.

The number of admin-roled people there are does indeed seem to have caused more trouble than it prevented.

Admins should be as few and as hands-off as possible.

I whole heartedly agree...  I may not have been here long enough to be considered a Devet, but I hung around before i joined when I did and watched as it grew.  The spirit is what got me to register.  I seen a group of people unit, discuss fight and rant, but then put away differences.  Most the time it was a flamewar over something then things got worked out.

I say let it go down, and let the spirit of Detnet die with it.  It can not be the same.  For those of you who insist on saving it.  I commend you and hope you do well, for i feel it is a dream not even the "Make a wish foundation" can touch.

The one thing you haven't done is listen to the DetVets who've flat out told you that we don't need a babysitter.

We fight, we rant, we joke, we laugh, we (OK, not all of us) cry, we tell our sucky stories, we tell our happy stories, we see immense battles, we patch it up, we move on, we have debates, we have discussions, we have agreements, we pat each other on the back, we have differences, we put them aside.

If you love Detnet, let it be Detnet.

Its rough watching this place slowly settle as the leaky hull allows in the forbidding ocean because of the pressure.....

I spend most of my online time here, or ebay...  reason I got broadband is so I could be online and check the boards all the time without being hollered at over the phone line....

hrmm.....  ???  :(  nervous.gif
