I do this for my bots so i thought it would be fun to do one for the new beast in the family.
I just picked up a 1962 buick convertable. It has a bit of front end dammage, needs a bumper and a paint job but the rest is in great shape.
The ride home was fun. found out this car has 2 speeds. This car loves to do 75 so its speeds are 75 and wanting to do 75. Thing runs like a champ with its newly rebuilt 401 Nailhead motor (1337 will be the only one to get that).
Ill post/link some pictures at time goes on and work progresses.

That is the skylark (buick special). Same car, smaller motor.
The 401 is what they put into station wagons to haul kids around in.

The nail head wasnt known for being the most high performance of engines but it had enough torque to take your house with you on a picnic and most had over 170,000 mile lifetime before being rebuilt.
Im guessing its got a powerglide 2 speed, or a turbo350 that need some attention.
Either way thats one hell of a car.
When your out at highways speeds it feels like it just floats over the road doesnt it?

got the powerglide for now and it's like driving on air.
everthing seams solid in the trans for now. it did take a little time to get everything pumped up from sitting for 8 months but once it did it did not even burp once. once i get the body work done and figure out what's what in the elecrical system ill see what i can do about performance.
There is a lot of room under that hood. Big block type room...

Why would you want a big block... they get such bad gas mileage.

gas mileage does not apply to pre 70s cars since the term did not come into common use till then.
basicly stated i dont give a rats ass about milage since fuel is just there to be burned to make things go faster.
Ill think ill want the bit with the big belt that sits on top and sticks through the hood too...
