I decided to give it another go.  

This time I noticed that Win2k said it didn't find a compatible HDD drive controller.  

I've already flashed the BIOS to its most current update.  Likewise, checked w/ the drive manufacturer to check for drivers or software that might fix this.  

No luck as of yet.  

BTW... its a fairly new HDD.
