Probably. I had the same problem with my first. She was also my first love. We "got together" on and off for about 3 years or so between other gf/bf's. I honestly think the only reason we stopped was that she moved away. Another problem is that I keep thinking that she might have been the Mystical "one" and I let her get away.

It's a hard cycle to break, good luck man. You have my sympathy and my support.

I've come to the conclusion that it's dangerous to think that your 'first' will be the 'last'. I think the only reason that my 'first' and I are no longer 'for life' is that i moved across the country, and she had a kid. Dear god, it took that much to do it. And now, I see my brother going through the same thing. His girlfriend from high school is moving to ARIZONA FROM MINNESOTA pretty much to be with him. She may say that she was looking at ASU before she met him, but we all know what's going on. I just hope that either he lucked out and found the one when he was 17, or he has the power to realize that he didn't before he's 20. Otherwise, it's a curse.
