Don't mind the soap-opera-esque feel of this post, I don't really care if I get any replies, I just feel like ranting.

Well most of you might remeber me from way back when I was first posting in this forum, and you know I seemed to be kinda fond of LD relationships. Well because of a string of bad experiences with them, I've developed a zero-tolerance attitude towards them. During my leave of absence, i got a GF that actually was in the same school district as me *gasp*, Jayme. We went out for 4 months, did lots of stuff, got really close, then she moved away. Far away.. So needless to say we broke up. This was all at the begining of summer. After she left, I got news that my Ex from Tex was moving down here. I was ex-static (damn my humor sucks[actually my spelling sucks])! She was my first love, first kiss, first utterly horrible breakup :P. We talked for a long time, and decided that we could wipe the slate clean and start over, so we started going out again. It was great, I fell in love with her all over again. With Jayme, it was always about the sex, but it was much more of an emotional connection with Ashley. Anyway, not 20 mins ago I got news that Ashley is, in fact, NOT moving down here. A deal that her step-dad was working on fell through so now they don't have the means to get down here.. Shes's leaving this weekend (she's visting her grandparents) and I probley won't see her for another year. I really don't know what to do, any advice would be helpful, you guys sure have helped out before (when you weren't doing your usual flaming).

</rant>

Geez Caseman....
You poor thing. I don't know WHAT kind of advice to give you but just try to hang in there and that time will heal wounds (maybe leave some scars but will heal them). Stick w/the people who give you good moral support in person too. Online sympathy just ISN'T the same even though it does help. How old are you anyway? (At this point, the younger the better since you have more of your lifetime left to meet new people the younger you are.)

The all comforting phrase...

dude, that sucks.

Really though, I can't tell you a damned thing about it because I've never *really* been there. I've been close, but not there. The most I can tell you is my personal belief on relationships.

One day, you will meet your "soul mate". You will fall in love, and everything will be great. How do you know who your soul mate is? You don't (God just fucks with us like that). But, if anything is truely ment to be, it will happen. Don't think like Neo, who didn't believe in faith. Remember, just because he's the saviour of our future world doesn't mean he's always right .

Don't let it get you down to much. Like I said, if it's meant to be it will happen, if not, well... milk as much fun out of it as you can for now, and remember it because as long as you have memories it's always there.

hehe alright..
this was last night (or this mornin if you wanna be technical). I snuck out of my house around 2 am and rode my bike 5 miles through ghetto town to go see her. We walked over to the graveyard by her gramps' house. We just walked around, messin with stuff, when we came to the methodist church next to the graveyard. In the parking lot is the big yellow school bus for the church. Naturally the door was ajar. We made out in the church bus for like 2 hours. I'm so proud of myself defileing a peice of church property, damn organized religion. hehehe

edit: P.S. I didn't get home until 6 am

Belive it or not I was in a VERY SIMALAR situation, except I was the one who was supposed to return an then couldn't. Anyway, I was delayed about a year (as in your case) and we constantly kept in touch. Basically by the time the year was up she had become a bitch and hated me for no reason.

Anyway, the thing I learned is that had we NOT kept in touch, everything would have been great when I got there (absence makes that heart grow fonder... and they DIDN'T have telephones when they said that!) but probably a year after being with her she would have hated me for no reason anyway. So the point is. If you keep in contact for the year and it doesn't work out... it wouldn't have worked out anyway. And if you keep in contact and it does... it would have worked out anyway. So... I say use this year as your final chance to sow your wild oats incase the VERY VERY VERY UNLIKELY situation is that this is your soul mate.

In other words... stop worrying. Worring is pointless and not worth the effort. Just enjoy.

Things to remember about soul mates

Even if you feel that base level connection that feels like you just stuck your private parts into a 220V power sorce it does not mean that the other feels the same way.

A true soul mate will feel the same way about you. If they are able to leave you for any reason then they were not the right one.
(I still feel that jolt through my system ever time i see my wife. Felt it the first moment i laid eyes on her and it has never diminished)

Yes, it sucks. Yes, it hurts. Yes, it will most likely happen again. Yes, you will live through it. Just remember there are 6+ BILLION people on this planet and you have not met everyone yet.
