Hello, I'm a freshmen (a-hem, first-year student) at penn state. when i first got here, i was amazed at all the hot chickas walking around. like 7/10 of the girls are serious hotties. i wasn't used to it at all, because i'm from d.c. and ther are not many attractive people at my high school. anyway, for about a month i was totally horny but couldn't get any, because i'm a nice (and shy) guy, and i just don't have it in me to sleep with some random girl. anyway my problem is, how can i attract the nice/shy girl type? they are so hard to find here. i am no longer looking for sex at all what i want is a relationship. i've had no luck using several different techniques (everyting from asking a girl out i just met a few hours ago to waiting until becoming friends, and everyting inbetween) but nothing has worked. any advice? i feel like i'm too mature for my age. everyone else is just out having fun. i just want a g/f...

heh... i know what you mean. i'm under slightly different circumstances as i'm already taken. but anyway, i'm also a frosh (at marquette U in milwaukee), who noticed all the hotties around too... and since i'm at a private catholic university, and i came from a public middle-class high school, you can only imagine... oh...catholic school girls..... yum...anyway, back on topic. most colleges have school sponsored things on campus (here we have a dance party/club type thing at the student union building every friday) where lots of people go. ask around about it. at the very least, you R.A. should know (assuming you're in dorms) of some things to do. go to a lot of them. go to study groups too. i know that sounds dorky, but lots of girls go there, and you can offer to study with them. but really, go to all social functions that you can. eventually, you'll find some ppl who just want to hang out, without sex. those usually develop. hope i've helped some....  ------------------

Oh, Brodie. I just graduated MSOE (just up the road from you), so you probably know my situation. It was something like 7 guys to 1 girl while I was there... it was a wonderful treat to have an excuse to go over to Marquette. I would rollerblade there just to see girls.
Anyways, CatKnight, even in a slim environment like mine, it just seems to happen. I ended up going out with a few girlies there (seriously bucking the ratios), and so have some of my friends. You think it isn't going to happen because the girls are all sluts, or there all pruds, or whatever. You generally get a good mix of girls around, and I like your odds a hell of a lot better than mine. The biggest reason that freshmen don't get girlies is because they are all spastic about not having a girl and not getting any. I observed it in some of my friends, and lo-and-behold, problem solved a year later, after they just chilled out. The only reason it took a year is because that's how long they were spastic.
One final note, every year you will get a new crop of girls to choose from, and it will be easier for you to get your pick each year, and single out those shy girls that are easiest to take advantage of (you bad man).
