Is there a line where physical contact becomes a sign of deeper things in a relationship?

Like; Just mates = a hug
More than Mates = holding hands
Dating = Kissing

Etc etc......

Do you have your own 'line'? Where does a relationship turn sexual in your eyes?

Does kissing mean "we are officially going out" to you?

It depends on you. I have *loads* of female friends, some closer than others. Maybe 4 or 5 I hold hands with all the time. The same ones I've slept with (sleep as in zzzz) many times, and we hug in bed (because it's nice). Two I've slept with (as in sex) just because it was intimate and we were feeling snuggley-and-a-bit-more. Kissing's different. I have only 'casual/passing' girly-friends I kiss when I see them, occasionally on the lips, but obviously, no tongue but surprisingly I haven't kissed the ones I sleep with (zzzz) except their hair when I'm hugging them 'cos they're crying, or something similar.

It's very hard to draw the line with me, as most of my most intimate friends are women, and we generally adore each other, lol.

Gets annoying if feelings develop that aren't mutual though, and of course if I was not single I wouldn't be this intimate with friends.

I think serious kissing is an indication that you will eventually be sleeping with that person, given that the person is a sexually active person (ie not being inhibited because they are young/a virgin/whatever).

Well, that's how it's worked with me.

Mike

i think that kissing is a big thing. even hookers don't kiss the guys very much (on the lips anyways....). i don't think that it's necessarily the start of a sexual relationship, but... see me and my gf are waiting for marraige to have sex, so we're very close and very intimate, but we just don't have sex. so i guess i didn't really accomplish anything more than random ramblings here, but...

I think it's very easy to tell. All you have to do is look in their eyes. It can mean more than a brush on the arms, a kiss, a crotch grab, or even sex sometimes.
