Yeah.. Umm sorry if you peeps don't give a shit or don't want this shit or something.. but I got a CS server up at 24.188.187.22 if y'all wanna join.. that would be tight... Even though it may seem empty, i'll be there!

join up and lets have a nice good ole fashioned detonate.net counterstrike shiznit!

oh, also, I'll post in this topic when i got a server up, if you people like this... Give me some feedbackage!

I'll take ya's all in CS. I am leader of a clan of 11 ppl, [CBG], Cape Breton Gangstaz. Only 5 of us are real good.

My server is @ stan.2y.net. Also a nice big ftp there too on port 65534, look/look. All run from my K63+/450 and cable internet. I got 16 ppl there before, it became rather slow but still fun. Join #westmount on DALnet, we're always there. And I'm goin to a big CS lan party in the mainland this weekend comin up. 3PM till 10AM sunday morning. No alcohol or illicit substances tho. That sucks.

Count me in... But beware, I'm going to own you all... Sorry. I'm rarely if ever not in the top 2-3 for my team.

I play CS every night as it is... either that or Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2. Which I'm awesome at as well. I've already beat that game with my Custom Skater, 100\%ing every level, which unlocked Spider-Man, beat it with him too... I rule!

I can't get to the CS server, DAMN! I was gonna show you guys how really 31337 folks (like me) play. Just so you guys know I standardly play on Not-The-Heap (which is a very hard server BTW) and am ussually in the top 1 or 2 for my team. last night I wen 30/10 on de_aztec so you all can eat my shorts

15 kills and 3 deaths is much better than 40 kills 29 deaths.

I had a 5 kills to one death ratio in the first screen shot and a 2.73 k2d after about 10-20 minutes of playing...

youre talking about a ffa game, ffa (free for all, deathmatch) is stupid and no judge of skill. try joining a teamplay server with 7 people just before they start (so you make the 8th person) and see if you dont come last in a 4on4

Ha! Nah! That's a DUST only server, so the map never changes... Usually when I get on, the score is like 256 Terrorists, and 275 Counter-Terrorist.

im not that great at CS
my best game was on Assault (duh). i had 41 kills, 29 deaths. then the map changed to dust and i managed half and half.

How long you folks been playing CS? I first found it in beta 2...version 1.1 isn't nearly as good as some of the older ones. (5.2)

Also, fatbitch, ping aside...CS is not an easy game. Go into a qworld server with like 20 people, mid-game. How many of those people have 0-3 kills? Do the same in a CS server and the number is considerably higher. Now sure, anyone can unload on someone who isn't looking and get a kill. It's the ability to run into a firefight with multiple persons (who have SKILL) and come out alive. Just because your idea of skill is running around with a rocket launcher does not mean CS is easy. You're just playing the wrong people.

Go to the start menu.
Click on "Run..."
Browse your files and find "hl.exe"
add this after hl.exe
-game cstrike -console +connect <server IP>

so it should read:
"C:\<root to hl.exe>hl.exe -cstrike -console +connect elise.kl1nk.org:27015"

IMPORTANT: WITH THE QUOTES ("")

the server was down for less than 20 minutes, the co owner of the box (the one with physical access to it) had to take it down. The server is at the University he goes to (UCSC).

those mad tactics we used yesterday, although they failed, were the shit..
Im tlaking about on assault... We somehow managed to get the entire 10 man CT team to use KNIVES and storm the front.... we got 1 kill that round.. but it was fun.. I'm a tactical master

Sithiee, we gotta play some more today, for I'll be gone this weekend... Sisters wedding tomorrow and father's house for the weekend.. He has 56k

and an ATI POS card that can't render for shit..

the awp (arctic warefare magnum/police) is the only 1-shot kill weapon in the game. it's a sniper rifle.

That's not necessarily true. I proved last night, numerous times, that it doesn't matter how many bullets you put in somebody's head, especially from close range. They're still gonna pop one fatal shot off at you while you're reloading.

Part of it is a symptom of bandwidth issues. I started FPSing majorly during my first year of college, when Quake hit, and we had a small underground lan in the dorms. As the network got better, I started reaching outside for fragfests with Q2, and Action Quake.

In the last 9 months, I've had shitty as hell internet service, and not been able to game at all. So, now that I've got the hookup, I'm gonna probably be a recluse and never leave my den.

If you're in college, you're blessed with broadband. If you're parents are well to do, or if you're in a decent area, you have broadband. Those categories fit a majority of folks here. Thus, having broadband, makes you cool. You're gonna get beat up if you don't have it. Beg your parents for it.

By the way... I'm going to have to show you guys my new setup...

Starting this next week (after I finish the wiring) I'll be viewing my Counter Strike on a 55" Monitor!!! I just ordered the super long VGA cable to run from my Video Card Output to my HDTV... Plus I have to wire the output from my SB Live through my A/V box, and then hook up a wireless keyboard/mouse...

I can't wait!!!!!

Pings under 200 are common for modumbers in Half Life (though if you're going cross country, that might be tough).

Seriously, I normally play with a 30 ping (and not even on my own server). I had a 180-200 on kl1nk's, and while I was forced to use the AWP, I did moderately well. Pistols are right out with that kind of ping, but I could have used subguns if I felt like adjusting.

you guys are forgetting that the CLQ ranks MILLIONS of players, on THOUSANDS of servers, rather than a couple hundren players on a single server. there would be WAY too much information if they kept track of kills with individual weapons and what not. kills and minutes are ok.

what time are you playing at? the server is on a university connection (t3 I believe), so during the day, there is some lag, but I've still played 20 player games fine. Also, it's a 20 player limit with 4 reserved spots, there usually isn't more than 20 people playing.

controlled bursts are good, and ive heard crouching helps steady your aim (i havent seen too much evidence of this, but i havent played for that long...) also, learn to effectivly use grenades, like on militia, if you throw a grenade over that wooden box through the big wall and the sort of lump of stone as you exit the tunnel, it can (i almost always get it there) right next to the door on the bottom of the house, where a lot of ts often bust out from. little tricks like that are really helpful. like knowing that eddie murphy likes to sit behind the door off to the right in the back entrance on assault

I've noticed that if you pause before you fire, keep your hand steady, and shoot short controlled bursts, you'll get off much straighter shots (bullet destinations are based on a randomizer and factors for your movement and stuff). Stay away from the sniping weapons, and stick with the long machine guns when you've got the money.

The other thing I do is learn how to use flash and smoke grenades. My favorite thing in a game is the smoke grenade. It annoys the piss out of people, and you can hide in the smoke without getting all shot up.

Yes, sniping with AK = very fun =) same with sniping with the para, sniping with the mp5, sniping with the SIG, sniping with the AUG, and sniping with the m4, not to mention sniping with the deagle. You know what really limits me right now though? My mouse sucks major donkey ballz, it's a ball PS/2 mouse, GRRRR....

i dunno if anyones ever thought of this before but you could take a screenshot of a player then turn the image into a spraypaint tag and then simply put it on a wall as a decoy. granted it wouldnt fool people up close but mabye it might cause a person to hesitate for long enough to put that bullet right between their eyes

Seems like a cheap thing to do though...

I'm all about playing the game straight up, not seeking out map/weapon flaws and using them as an unfair advatage.

I simply can't stand people who use the AWP. I hate people who use hostages to reach areas of the map they weren't meant to reach. Or plant the bomb in the crack of inferno that is un-defuseable. Or use hostages to block doors.

I'm not sure why people can't just play the game and keep it fun. I don't care if I get killed, or loose a round. It's all about fun to me, and the above mentioned groups ruin the whole damn game for me.

AWP and CAMPERS:

OK, I'm tired of people BITCHING about AWPers and camp fags.
1) The AWP is part of the game, if it was too easy to use and superior to every other gun, it wouldn't be part of the game. If you can't take out an AWPer...you suck.
2) Camping, although I don't do it, it is also part of the game, camping is a strategy! In DE maps, CT camps, in CS maps, T camps, got it? It's a fact, why rush the T's in a DE map? Let them come to you - they HAVE to or they lose...and vice-versa with CS maps...

So, I'm not pointing fingers or naming names...alls I'm sayings is: anyone who whines is a n00b!

Vulu... I already know you are a fag, but quite proving me right, time and time again.

People who AWP and camp do so with the sole purpose of ruining the game for everyone else.

Let's take cs_militia for example.

You get 5 people on the roof and in the windows with AWPs. Then you have 2-3 people who take all the hostages into the garage and turn out the lights. Then they use the hostages to block the door so that the only way into the room is through the vents. Now they simply have to sit back and snipe everyone as they run up the courtyard. Those who wade through the sewers to get around are then dumbfounded to find out they can't open the door to the garage. So they go through the vent. Since the lights are out they can't see the people inside, but they can see them. It's an unbeatable situation since you can only get one person through the vent at a time and they have to crawl through. Some say... Flashbang. Doesn't work. You can't get people in there fast enough to take out the 2-3 people camping inside.

It's fucking stupid!!! Yes, it's part of the game, but it's fucking gay!!! FUCKING GAY!!! And if you think otherwise, YOU ARE FUCKING GAY!!!

As far as the AWP being an unstoppable weapon. Just ask Sithee what happens if I decide to pick up the AWP and teach a few fuckers a lesson.

Sniping is cool, but I think either the AWP should cause either 99 damage. And don't give me this AWP weapon is realistic. It really causes this much damage. If that's the case then every other weapon in the game should be one shot one kill as well. Let me fucking shoot you in the chest with a Desert Eagle and see if you keep running around.

Also note there is a difference between camping and hiding. If you are running around and hear someone coming and you HIDE behind a box, no big deal. But when you run to that spot and just sit there the whole fucking game waiting to shoot people as they run by, IT'S FUCKING GAY!!!!! FUCKING GAY!!! MOTHER FUCKING GAY!!!!! It's fucking fags like you that ruin the game for the rest of the people that are there to HAVE FUN, not just win at all costs.

Thank god for Admin's like KL1NK that punish campers and awpers... KL1NK, you are one cool mother fucker. Vulu, go stick your dick in an electrical outlet.

camping is okay as long as there are a lot of players in the round and not everyones doing it. like if you're the only CT or T left DONT DO IT ITS GAY! militia levels still beatable with the hostage blocking tactic. you still have a minimum of two entrances and one of them is open for flashbanging (the stairs) i've done it where the whole teams been in there waiting and we still got our ass's kicked (not because we were crap mind thats just me). although a cool thing to do in that area is hide up on the cupboards by the sidebar people walk right past you woohahaha. but seriously though i can always beat people with awp's, if they're just on their own they're a sitting ducks you can run rings around em. but if they've got backup with non-awp's then that shows good tactics. i mean really when would you in real life call out to terroists

anti-campers shut the fuck up apart from the reasons i've stated theres no reason to complain. this aint quake you supposed to value you're life, just shake that evil respawn instinct out of yourselves and you'll be fine

You are thinking of a different spot in Militia. I'm talking about downstairs past the cupboard camp spot in the garage. There is ONE door, and ONE vent into that area. Lights can be turned off, and the door can be blocked.

And how many times do you have a terrorist building in real life where all the terrorist are sitting on a roof with sniper rifles fully zoomed and the Counter Terrorist have 2 minutes to rescue the hostages?!?! Give me a fucking break. The game is supposed to be semi-realistic, which is why I love it. But it's also supposed to be FUN!

And as far as tactics, then how do you feel about the dickheads who use the boost method in de_inferno to get on top of the boxes at the CT spawn and then plant the bomb in the un-defusable crack between the boxes?!?! Stratedgy?!?! BULLSHIT! It's picking out little FLAWS in the game and exploiting them, thus ruining the game for other players.

Like I said.
Hiding = GOOD
Defending = GOOD
Sniping = GOOD

Camping = Dick Sucker
AWPing = Not skilled enough to use the scout.

Btw, the camping momentarily when you see someone and then hide for a a few seconds is allright. AWP whores suck. G3 whores are leet. Because with the G3 you always get a second chance.

Also this place started smelling like the < cs crossfire > when you guys started talking about cs "issues".

We play on KL1NK's server when it's up and not full. The address is elsie.kl1nk.org or you can search in the CS list for [UK]elsie.

I've been meaning to suggest another group of servers I play on that are really good. This guy runs like 6 or 7 servers. Some play all maps, some have Friendly Fire on. One of them plays maps dust, dust2, inferno, and italy. That's one of my favorite servers. They all post stats to the same server, so no matter which of his 6-7 you play on, you get your stats recorded in the same spot. Beware though... The server will boot you if you cuss 2 times in a session... It bans you for like 30 min...

Check it out sometime. Here in the near future the clan website will be up, and we'll post all our favorite servers there....

yeah i've played servers where even putiing *** in is not allowed i mean that was being a bit TOO fucking lame but i rarely swear anywayz on servers unless i get flashbanged and blow myself up with my OWN h.e grenade.

thats not true. i cant count the number of times ive won with a usp over a m4a1 simply because the person i was against didnt let go of the fire button, so while i kept shooting them in the face, they were shooting all around me....

Me and Sith have been playing on the NoxOrdo servers.

Currently we are ranked #3 as a clan. Which is DAMN good considering there are over 1,000 clans and almost 4,000 active players on the Nox servers...
