Hero's Quest I - So You Want to be a Hero
Quest for Glory II - Trial by Fire
(For both of those, the version where you had to type everything in, not the sissy, clickable interface that told you what to ask, and 256 color graphics, etc. :))
Duris: Land of Bloodlust
X-Com: Terror From the Deep
Starcraft
Diablo
Kings Quest III (I think it was III, the one w/ all the fairy tale nonesense, also before the sissy click interface and 256 color graphics; ask about magic beans!;)
Sid Meire's Civilization
Think Quick (has anyone ever heard if this?  I remember it being so fun when I was ~8-9)
Sorcerian

The interesting thing is that three of these are adventure games (from Sierra, the most underated software label ever) and I really don't like them as much anymore.  They were my first games and after beating them all w/o the produceres giving me the solutions to all the puzzles etc., I lost interest in adventure games.  I picked up Quest for Glory III about five years later and was -so- disappointed to find that the 'ask about' system (as I remember it) was gone in favor of some GUI that told you all the answers.  Ah, good times :)

any medium.

No download times, realtime reactions, no wires, 8 basic moves,
absolutely bloody.

The word "checkmate" comes from a Persian word
for "the King is dead"

Why do I think Pachinko is public masturbation?
They sure like it though.

!SPAM!

Why the hell did you post one pic at a time???

They asked for a top ten of *computer* games, not ten posts about various other games...

GTA III PC is tha bomb BTW

Actually after reviewing the topic title and description, it doesn't say "computer games" just "games of any medium".

I loved to play Tempest in the video arcades.
I could go 30-40 minutes on one quarter.

</mod_hat>You sir, are dumber than a box of rocks. The best part of you ran down the crack of your mother's ass and ended up as a brown stain on the mattress. I think you've been cheated... Learn to read.<mod_hat>

flame being taken care of, no, I meant any game, any medium. IRL, board, mental... that's why tag is first on my list. you do know what tag is, right?

I read what you wrote and I was surprised how myopic the community was, so I did my thing with the pictures.

Sorry for dialup folk, but I was indeed both playing and editorializing again.

Someday I would like to learn Go.  I saw that movie Pi.

I loved playing tag in school with girls and boys.
Boys got it on the head/shoulder, girls got it on the ass.
*always*

no particular order (I don't do ordered lists)...

the longest journey

sam + max hit the road

monkey island (1 + 2)

full throttle - an audio orgy for it's time really, awesome music, awesome voice acting, awesome story...

grim fandango - lucas really understands the importance of
quality audio in the game experiance!!!

The star wars space sim series (x-wing, tie fighter, etc)... TIE Fighter was the first game that I got that I paid for out of pocket.

doom I+II - so many hours of fun

half life - even more hours of entertainment, I've definately logged the most hours in this

GTAIII - there's just something I love about crushing police cars beneath a tank and not getting in trouble for it. I definately prefer it on the PS2, the PC port is missing a certain something.

I dunno, I'm an adventure game junkie, there's just something about the whole getting a game and a really interesting story that I enjoy. I could list a bunch of honourable mentions, e.g. Tribes 2 (love the concept but graphically it's dull and the gameplay doesn't seem refined enough).

My top ten (in no particular order)

10. Chrono Trigger (SNES, of course!;)
9. FF7 (PSX)
8.Resident Evil 2 (PSX)
7. Syndicate Wars (PC)
6. Half-Life [including the more popular mods such as TFC and CS]
5. Shadowrun (P&P foremost, the rest fall in afterwards)
4. Legacy of Kain series (various)
3. Metal Gear series (various)
2. Quake series (QTF foremost, the rest fall in afterwards)
1. Pool [billiards] (though until recently, I sucked at it.)

I've never been able to play rpg's enough to put rpg's on my list :(

warhammer - game is fun, the company that makes it sucks ass.

cyberpunk - well duh, sci-fi is all about ripping off as much as you can of what came before you :p either way they both ripped of Gibson.

Heh, I keep TFTD loaded on my laptop for cross-country flights. If I start right after takeoff I can usually have most of the alien arsenal and mind control powers by landing =)...

But I'm reluctant to play it anymore because I'll probably get brought in for questioning if people see me playing "terror" on my laptop... :[
