Having a 56k modem and having the addiction to the original TF psychologically conditioned me to be an engineer. sly.gif
I was just wondering what kind of class/playerbase we've got going around here. This coming at the apex of my recent TFC cravings

I also played a good sniper.  It's been almost a year since I played though...I started on a 56k, and I had latency from 500-750, and I owned people...it was funny, it pissed them off...aw, the good old days before marriage.. hehe.gif

oh, sure, a poll I can vote in...for a game I don't play

*sigh*  God hates me

/me cocks an eyebrow.
I keep seeing people complain about not being able to vote in polls (which seems to happen quite often) yet I have yet (knock on synth-wood) to have that happen to me....

Detnet just likes me for some reason :D

*watches on as Detnet turns him into a liar and blows him up in various ways*

Being on a 28.8 modem for the longest, really limited your class choices. I'd do the spy/engy thing, but usually the spy.

you don't know fun until you  cross 2fort, get to the sniper tower, and sfeign. sniper walks out, pop up, knife him, sfeign again...

This weekend I'll be going to a friend's house and so will my computer. TFC will abound.

He sucks at TFC
I suck at TFC

it's a good deal. devil.gif

is it just me or is this a mutual question?

why are so many people good at being snipers in video games, yet almost nobody becomes a sniper for a profession?

you can become a rich man becoming a sniper. armed forces need people, even though most wars are fought for politics, not something actually worth fightning for.

Humanoid: have you ever shot a rifle?

Talk to Wolfguard.

My experience:

Me and my parent's friends went out into the desert, set up milk jugs on stands, and backed off to 500 yards (measured via rangefinder). sounds easy, right? Especially with the rifle being a scoped Remington Model 700. (US military uses it as a sniper rifle)

We fired from prone, standing, sitting, crouching, etc.

took us around 15 shots to get it zeroed properly. then the wind started blowing. we didn't hit much. I was the second to shoot, and I clipped it. the last guy was the only person to hit it. 5 people expend 15 shots each, to zero a rifle for their turn, and only the last guy can do it.

it's not as easy as pointing a mouse. you have to account for wind velocity, bullet drop, air density, temperature, breathing, muscle twitches...

it's a gift, if it wasn't, the military would be recruiting in TFC servers.
