I just got back from seeing Episode II with Deluded_Biped.  What an astounding movie!  I thought Lucas had gone Senile, but this movie was just increadable!  I'm not going to give any details though, see it yourself :)

Deluded_Biped is also an extremely cool character, we'd best meet up again, I still owe him a movie :)

Beldy, look at her butt.  It is so big.  She looks like one of those rap guys' girlfriends ... I can't believe it's just so round, it's like, out there ...

*shake my ass to the music*

I like big butts and I cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny, when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face  ....

Well shake it, (shake it), shake it, (shake it), shake that healthy butt!!!

(yea I'll shake it alright!;)

oh, whoops hi there!

Yoda = bad mother fucker.

Yoda took that sith lord to SCHOOL!

"Kick your ass, I shall!  0wn3d r j00!"
Posted by Rhydant on May 17 2002,06:58
its funny. Yoda can fly around like a small asian karate guy, but still needs his staff to walk.
Posted by Rshias on May 17 2002,07:46
Yoda obviously has Real Ultimate Power.  He totally flipped out on Tyrannus.

Just tried saying that with Yoda voice ... inserted a Yoda "mmMMMMmmm!" in between the two fragments ... and ended up laughing so hard ... :D

Yeah... but... he's old and stuff.

Or the slow walking limp is used as a method of disguise.  Admit it, you wouldn't expect that to happen.  That means it works.  ;)

With great power comes great responsibility. He is old yes, but in the force he can do many feats that his frame is incapable of. But rather than constantly use the force to support himself, he uses a stick. He has learned to draw on the force only when necessary, and not for personal gain. Therein lies the true secret to his strength.

I was a little bit disappointed. The acting (especially by the guy who played Anakin) was pretty weak. A lot of the story seemed slow up until the last half-hour or so. The action sequences kicked ass though, and it was still a huge improvement over ep. 1 though, fortunately.

A lot of people have been dogging the guy who played Anikin, and his delivery of some lines was a bit wooden, but you have to admit, some of the "looks" he gave (as in foreshadowing his turn to the dark side and such) were awesome.

the problem is that he's an even more forgettable actor than mark hamill.

I liked it.

Didn't love it, but liked it.

Interesting how everone is raving about Yoda - to me, it seemed......wrong.

Perhaps it's because, despite the Force, he seems much too young, especially when we see him in RotJ, only, what...60 yrs later?  Perhaps his movements are too fluid, or perhaps that fight was a little too flamboyant (sp?).  Seriously, the quadruple rolling was pretty cool, but why would Yoda execute 4 flips when he only needs 1?

Aside from that -- the scenes with Anakin & Padme were tedious and painful, the action (with the exception of the Yoda bit) was just about perfect, and the movie didn't suck nearly as bad as Ep I.

I heard you can see Natalie Portman's nipples  ..is this true or just a rumor.  Don't make me waste money and see not even a nipple.  I don't really care to see the ninja muppet.

The only thing interesting in it was Portman.

There was one scene when she had high beams on. But she was wearing a top.

the yoda bit was just a pointless addone to lucas's continuing hard on for cgi'in EVERYTHING. though the apocalypse now bit was good. bout time they got rid of the muppet kid form the first one and replaced him with one that had a chance of boning portman. though i got pissed cos he was getting her goodies and i wasnt

i'm refusing to buy any of the stupid toys (you know lucas put 50 new types of robot in for that one reason)

and i'm glad they didnt bump off christopher lee at the end like darth maul cos he deserved to have a decent part.

and have you noticed how even on a planet made entirely out of a city all the charachters know each others relatives somehow.

portman had a bare back hehehehehehehehehee inlove.gif  inlove.gif  devil.gif

I just noticed this on second viewing. Why did anakin's bro-in-law have a beard? He looked like he was 25! He should be, at the very oldest, 10! Lucas goofed on that one :p

Wrong.

1.) Owen didn't have a beard.
2.) He's not Annikin's bro-in-law, it's his step brother
Posted by CatKnight on May 27 2002,22:17
yeah thats what i meant, step-bro, cuz they have the same mother but different fathers. yes, he DID have a beard, and also, he had a girlfriend!

well it wasnt a beard but it was like a 5:00 shadow kind of thing. that is besides the point though.

[nerd]and in scene 105 there was a rock building that wasnt in the other film[/nerd]

WHO GIVES A FUCK! I don't care about bullets in action films making massive holes in things when in reall life they would have just made pin holes so why should i care about stupid stuff that doesnt actually matter.

all that matters is that natalie portman wore near to FUCKALL in it. Geez some people have the wierdest priorities in films.
Posted by Wiley on May 28 2002,06:45
I saw it last night (in a digital  ;)  ) and was a bit tired of the lame forshadowing of every fucking little thing.  Like when Obi-Wan jokingly says "I have a feeling you will someday be the death of me".  Throwing Boba-Fet in there and Luke's future step parents just kinda randomly because you know they are in the future films and George want to establish some kinda "history" with these bit characters who have no significance anyway.  It was like the entire thing was scripted around the fact that George knows you have seen the other movies.  If I show these movies to my kids one day in order they are not going to get half of the references.  The act of writing a story that you already know the ending to could have been done a bit better IMO.  Spend time taking us on a twisting turning plot  ...not just explaining how the things in the future movies came to be.
Portman was hot though   ...I spanked one out for her.

i loved dooku's bent lightsaber

the anakin vs dooku fight was brilliant. they got the fencing part right for once :)

Posted by kuru on May 28 2002,13:33
Of course Lucas assumes you to have already seen Episodes 4, 5 and 6. That's the order they're intended to be in. And the movie doesn't intend to show that Anakin becomes Vader, because we all already know that. The point of the prequels is to show the one thing we never knew: why Anakin becomes Vader.

The actor has to be forgettable in a way that, though Hamill's name's been mostly forgotten, Luke Skywalker has not. They key to the success of the Vader character is that up until Episode 6, you're not supposed to see his humanity or even remember that he was once human. Anakin's already becoming mechanical mentally, hence his mechanical nature in the movie. And the romance with Padmé Amidala is supposed to be awkward, scary, and a little forced. Remember after all that Anakin is going to be Vader, and that Leia has told us her mother was "a very sad woman".  All in all you've got a guy around 18 who's very much becoming a monster romancing a 24 year old former queen who knows more about formality than love. It wouldn't be right if it wasn't a little stiff.

Great flick.

And I still hafta meet Biped. Perhaps sometime I will drag on out that way and collect Anztac and Biped both. :p

1. i was dissapointed by the yoda scene.  It didn't live up to the hype. (it was still pretty cool though.)
2. yoda did not 0wn Dooku.  It was pretty much even.
3. the clone/droid battle was one of the best sceenes, but i like the Jedi's vs. driod battle better!

Just saw it yesterday (i prefer a nearly empty cinema to a nearly full one. Don't know why)

Quite liked it.. but that bit near the end when they were supposed to be being killed by those animals reminded me just a bit *too* much of gladiator...

and yoda did own.. dooku had to drop a pillar on him and run away..
