woman at home, doing the cleaning?

or....

woman at work earning the money?

Posted by Vigilante on Dec. 23 2000,16:14
Why not both?

Or alternately, one doing each.

Why not eschew general gender roles and just do what ever the hell we want. My girlfriend and i don't have any set roles, we both keep the apartment clean, and whichever one of us who feels like cooking makes dinner. The only reason i'm the "bread-winner" right now is because i had to drop out of college and get a full time job, when my gf's writing career takes off she might become the primary income source.

Good job, jrh1406. I agree!

But for your particular sitch... *whew* check down there and make sure your balls are still attached...
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with what your doing... so long as you're SURE your GF would be perfectly fine with the reverse.

Sorry to revive this thread, i forgot i posted here and decided to reply.

PersonGuy, i didn't say i'd stop working, i like what i do, so i'll continue doing it. But if my GF makes more than me, i really don't care. I watched my dad fuck up my moms life because he decided that she couldn't make more than him, so he made her quit a great job and then dragged her to RI to get his degree, which he never got.
I just don't get why it's so important for the man to make more than the woman. I say that if you're in a relationship and you're both bringing in money, then have fun spending it, who gives a rats ass if some-one is making more money than the other, just have fun with it.

No, no... that's not what I meant at all. I meant that YOU quite college so she could sit and write a book or whatever... untill... here... career... takes... off...

That may never happen, and for all you know, you're a free meal ticket to her. That's why I say if you're SURE that she'd be perfectly fine with the reverse (you go to college, she works full time) then you're ok.

Get it?

Sorry i missunderstood you there PersonGuy, i didn't drop out of school so she could start her career, there were alot of reasons, most of which were stupid mistakes on my part, none of which had anything to do with her.

And I know she would be comfortable with the reverse. If her career does take off, then i 'll probably take some time off work and get my degree. If not, i'll just take night classes or something later. First i've gotta pay off what i already owe them.

hey pengu1nn.. that reminds me of that george carling mp3- femenist blowjob. that was as funny as hell.

anyhow, kuru's right, gender roles are stupid- but ya cant help em anyways, the minds eventually get warped through media.

As soon as I find a woman who is willing to do the traditionally manly chores. (fix stuff, move furniture, mow the lawn, take out trash...) Then I'll start helping with womanly chores.

But fortunately for me, the type of woman I'm attracted to doesn't want to do the manly chores, and is quite happy cooking, dusting, dishes, laundry...

Which works out nicely!

(ps. Christy you ROCK!)

i'd rather move furniture, mow the lawn, and change the oil than dust, cook, and wash laundry.

then again i guess some guys just feel inadequate around a chick who completely takes care of herself.

Damn, babe. One of us has to do that stuff.

I can cook. The rest I'm not so fond of.

do the dishes half of the time, and let me cook sometimes, and we got a deal.

im good at slacking off.

thats what the dish washing machine, the laundry machine, the local chinese food takeout, and calculator are made for.

and now youre telling me its a pain in the ass to put the dishes in, or the clothes in, or to call em up, or to look for your calaculator?

im not that lazy.

thats how my life works. good ol' tech.
