whats the best way to talk to girls and make them want to engage in a relationship with me
Posted by kuru on Apr. 24 2001,22:45
honesty usually works, as long as you're tactful. finding stuff you have in common to talk about is another good start.

I'd like some help too I'm in college, I really dont have a problem with talking to girls, but my problem has always been the first step, making contact and engaging their attention.
How do I do it?

I guess my secret is that I've lost most of my sex drive from past relationships. So, I don't get all nuts and horny around them, and all girls are just a different kind of person to talk to. I take it from there.

i can give advice on meeting girls and talking to them, but the asking out part is where my difficulty lies, so i can't give very good advice on that.

anyway, in college, the best way to meet girls is definately in classes. make sure you ask questions during class and speak up, so that the girl will notice you. after a couple weeks, approach her after class and just say "hi, i've seen you in class a lot, but i never got a chance to talk to you. my name is x. " i have found this method extremely effective at meeting nice girls. if they are the nice type, she will introduce herself and a conversation will begin. if not, she'll just be like "uh yeah, im in a hurry so i gtg. bye." without introducing herself or making an effort to be friendly. the mean ones are easy to pick out that way. if she is the nice type, ask for her email address or instant messanger name. then email her and say hi, or IM her. ask her if she would like to get together for "lunch or something" sometime. this is where you find out if there is any chance. if she says she is busy every time you ask after two or three tries, she is probably not interested. if she is she wil either say "sure what time" or "im really busy, but i would like to at a later time". if you wanna ask her out, you should probably ask her to a movie or a nice dinner or both at some point after becoming friends. this is the part i have trouble with though, as i usually become too good of friends or something.

I've given up on that. It got old to me... which, obviously, means that it has gotten even older to anybody else.

If it was important, cr0 would put up a link to it right after user registration.

Try asking for help on some homework. It puts her in the perfect possition for a yes...

U: Did you understand what we're supposed to be doing? I'm lost...

Her: Sure, a little bit.

U: Wow! You must be pretty smart. Do you think you could help me a little?

Her: NO WAY JERK! (that WON'T happen... see? )

Then just take it from there and DON'T make a first move the FIRST time she helps you with something. And if you plan a date... DINNER, NOT LUNCH! And no movies on the first date!

personguy's actually right about the homework thing.

pick a subject you remotely like and need some help in, and ask one of the smart chicks in class to help you out.

it'll give you something non-threatening to talk about, and over the course of doing your work you'll build up the ability to talk to her without being nervous.

then you'll be able to ask her out without any fear.

My problem isnt talking to girls or meeting them, i actually have lots of friends who are girls, but supposedly im "to facking nice." Its like girls want me to treat them like shit or something. wtf is up with that? Pisses me off. I guess, "nice guys finish last." FACK THAT

this is an if-y topic being that girls don't know what they want, hence the age old question "what do women want?"
there really is no specific way to get girls to notice/like you. however the best advice i have to offer(and this is for everyone) is to be yourself cause even if you don't end up with the girl/guy you wouldn't have had to make any unnecessary compromises and face regret. and to the nice guys, hang in there...cause eventually girls will come to their senses and realize they are sick of being screwed over and they will appreciate your deeds/niceness all the more

i think the real question is: how do you KEEP a girl interested!

I'd just like to bring this back up in order to say respond to spicegoddess and say that hanging in there sucks ass. That is all.

chicks know what they want. if you wanna find out, ASK THEM.

settling for 'i dunno, whatdya you want?' isn't a good idea. a chick who's complacent isn't a good team up for a guy who has goals. vice versa is true too.

it's all sparks for a while, but then it dies out. fire needs *fuel* to live on, and it takes effort to keep it going. it's great to find your comfortable groove with someone, but you still have to throw in the spice every now and again.

try new stuff. instead of sitting around on a sunday afternoon, or goin to the mall, or seeing yet another movie.... jump out of a plane.

go skiing. find a public pool, or even some lake somewhere, and go swimming. do things you've never done before, or find new ways to do the same things. re-visit your childhood and go roller-skating (for those of us children of the 70s and 80s).

the point is, it takes work to keep things fresh and vital. it's hard to lose interest if you're always doin something new and exciting.
