Looks schweet Wolfie. I would SO love to build a robot, but have neither the time nor the money. Maybe in the future, I'm in RI so it's probably not that big of a trip up to the "Northeast".

chmod-The arena cost us about 5k in parts and about 250 hours of labor.

miNus-Your in RI, we are in Philly. Not that bad a trip. We get people from as far as CA to come play.

what happened was I immidiately clicked on the link, then clicked reply (so it would load while I was reading the link) looked at it, realized it was a robot arena, and then came back to reply that wolfguard would get a kick out of that.

Damn these misunderstandings!

Catknight isn't an idiot. I'll make my damn stand here, with bottle of SoCo in hand! I share many of his beliefs, and I understand his "Second year of college" ways. Let him grow up and don't attack him. He's the most senior poster here (by number... i beat him on maturity... and others beat me). Attacking him here is like hitting him for a double post.

Yes, but he did acknowledge that he made a retarded mistake. That's what i meant. He didn't change it to something like:
"HaHa! This is cool! and Wolfguard posted it, but I'll pretend I knew all along!"

Actually, I wasn't taking a shot at CK with my last post. I was showing slate that he was wrong... He was thinking that chmod posted that AFTER CK edited his post. I'm just quick like that.

that fucking kicks ass WG. i was working on some designs before coming to uni. got some madass ideas and they were plausible but when it came to uni no one else there was interested so i canned the idea which was fucking annoying cos i managed to find a way to get a hypnodisk type weapon to spin at aprrox 2.5 times the speed and torque of a single direct drive system. i'll leave you to figure out how i did it.

hint: a-level physics comes in handy

Hypnodisk is a spinner so we have to think about this.

get motors that spin at 2x the speed at normal voltage. Over volt by a factor of 2. use a 2:1 reduction back to the weapon.

Use 2 magmotors at 36V and gear them up.

Use an averox brushless motor at 36V and gear down (spins at 10k rpm at 36v)

thats 3 ways and im not even trying yet.
