I love my dialup! Why is that you ask? Because it works, for the most part.

But eng, you say, dialup is slow as cr0's updates to SW (ohhhhh ... low blow). Yes it is, but after being told for over two (2!!!) years that the town I live in would be getting cable. I've given up all hope on getting broadband.

You see _every_ town around mine has cable already, just a quick 5-10 minute drive to my aunt's house and I'm getting knocked up on that drug called speed. Last I was told I could get cable in the beginning of 2001. This is from the same company that said it would be DONE in Q1 '99.

This is really starting to get annoying. Looks like I might have to spend an arm and a leg just to get DSL ... if it ever gets here. *sigh*

I know how you feel... two companies in my town promised dsl/cable in "around two months." That was around november or so.

The only options I have is a 26.4 connection, or spending over 100$/month on a 64k isdn.

Heh, thank god I always get 49k or better ... hurray for non winmodems.

Otherwise I'd be forced to sell my first born and get ISDN.

Yeah. Try that in the UK. The only real option we're getting is ADSL, which is being s-l-o-w-l-y implemented by our telecoms monopoly, BT. Thing is, the estimated price (and I bet that it's higher) on launch is £40/month (about ๑ i think). Which is typical of our monopolistic telco, because in france I read it was less than half that.

Sigh, no streaming pr0n for me in the near future then.
